About Us
Mentally Interrupted Radio was created with one clear purpose: to give voice to real stories, real struggles, and real hope. Created by a man with lived experience of a Mental Health Issue, the station was born from a deep understanding that mental health is not a side topic—it is part of everyday life for millions of people around the world.
At Mentally Interrupted Radio, we believe that honest conversation saves lives. We provide a platform where people can speak openly about mental health without fear of judgement, stigma, or silence. Our programming focuses on Raising Mental Health Awareness, and Stories of Recovery, because we know that hearing someone else’s journey can help others feel less alone and more empowered to seek support.
We are more than just a music station. Mentally Interrupted Radio is a Talk station and Disability Sports broadcaster, delivering engaging talk programs, interviews, community discussions, and coverage of disability sports that often go unheard in mainstream media. By highlighting disability sports, we aim to celebrate ability, resilience, and inclusion, while challenging outdated perceptions about disability and mental health.
Our presenters, guests, and contributors come from diverse backgrounds, including people with lived experience, advocates, athletes, carers, and professionals. This diversity ensures our content remains authentic, relatable, and grounded in real-world experience rather than theory alone.
Mentally Interrupted Radio operates across multiple platforms to reach listeners wherever they are. Mentally Interrupted Radio 1 is available in Australia, NZ and UK Only, and Mentally Interrupted Radio 2 is Worldwide. This structure allows us to serve local communities while also connecting with a global audience that shares our commitment to mental health awareness and inclusion.
Above all, Mentally Interrupted Radio exists to remind people that recovery is possible, conversations matter, and no one has to face mental health challenges alone. Whether you are tuning in for support, inspiration, education, or simply to listen, you are welcome here. This is a space for understanding, healing, and hope—one conversation at a time.
